DELHI LITERATURE FESTIVAL 20221 10th Edition

Delhi Literature Festival (#DelhiLitFest), the flagship literary event on the cultural calendar of national capital city, is all set to roll out its tenth edition from 18th to 27th February 2022.

 

The Delhi Literature Festival, began in 2013, with the objective of promoting literature and the good old habit of book reading. Over the last 9 years the Delhi Literature Festival has hosted galaxy of speakers from across the globe and engaged with numerous literature lovers through discussions, book readings, book launches and workshops. With the Covid 19 pandemic and the imposed lockdown, the 9th edition last year was shifted to the online digital platform with authors and moderators joining virtually and engaging with viewers across the world.

 

With the ongoing threat of Covid 19 pandemic, like last year, this year too the 10th edition of the festival will be held online digital platform, spread across 2 weekends from 18th February 2022 to 27th February 2022. In its tenth edition, the festival will host renowned authors, artists and content creators from the world of literature, theater, films and ardent book lovers.

Festival Director Bharati Bhargava said, “The Delhi Literature Festival since the last two years has truly leveraged technology and scaled up, to witness not only Union Ministers, nobel laurerate and bestseller authors participate but has also ensured far wider reach in terms of audience and participants. The digital platform has provided the opportunity for a wider engagement with audience spread across the world. The festival is also a platform to promote young and budding authors and content creators through the Insta Kahaani Contest”

 

The Delhi Literature Festival 2022 list of authors include Bestseller & Award winner of Amazon’s Popular Book of 2021 in Business & Economics author of “Roaring Lambs”

– Mr. Sreedhar Bevara, Nobel Laureate and Author Dr. Kailash Satyarthi, Dr. Shashi Tharoor and Union Culture Minister Shri Kishan G. Reddy, Union Minister & Author Shri Bhupender Yadav alongwith economist Ila Patnaik’s, bestseller The Rise of the BJP and Mr. Mayank Bidawatka, Co founder Koo, the home grown social media app.

 

The festival will feature politician Manish Tewari analysing India’s counter-terrorism tactics over the years, through his book ’10 Flashpoints 20 Years’. The audience will also witness a session with Mythological author Smt. Bhanumathi Narasimhan, Bollywood actors Neena Gupta and Divya Dutta, top romance writer, Ajay Kumar Panday, journalist Sagarika Ghose who has penned the book on Shri Atal Behari Vajpayee.

 

Debutant author Nidhi Upadhyay whose novel That Night: Four Friends, Twenty Years, One Haunting Secret, has been Asia’s best seller in suspense thriller category, will discuss on the writing of the dark, twisted tale of friendship and betrayal. The festival will also showcase the works of Dr. Purushottam Aggarwal on the great poet Kabir, Tarana Hussain Khan’s The Begum & the Dastan, Bhanumathi Narasimhan’s Sita, A tale of ancient love and a session with historian Dr.Vikram Sampath on Veer Savarkar.

 

The concluding session of the festival will be a session with Shranaya Bhattacharya who will discuss her book “Desperately Seeking Shah Rukh: India’s Lonely Young Women and the Search for Intimacy and Independence”, and why she put together a story of what made Indian women loved Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan and what that love can tell us about the women themselves.

 

With the objective to promote and popularise the digital content creators, the Delhi Literature Festival launched a special contest for young talents titled Insta-Kahani. The participants were encouraged to narrate their story on the theme of “Celebrating the Indian in Me” or “Rejoicing Life” and capture their engaging and thought-provoking idea in the form of a 1-minute video-reel and post it over Instagram. The winners of the contest were facilitated at the curtain raiser event held at DLF Mall, Saket.
