Delhi Paramedical and Management Institute (DPMI) organized Blood Donation Camp to tribute “Indian Army”

 

New Delhi : Delhi Paramedical and Management Institute (DPMI) organized a Blood Donation Camp on the occassion of Shanti Diwas in association with Armed forces transfusion centre signifying the slogan “Be there for someone else. Give blood. Share life”. Around 130 volunteers comprising students and faculty donated blood at a blood donation camp.

The main objective of organizing blood donation camp was to donate the blood to the “The Delhi Army Hospital” and shall be utilized for injured soldiers who are admitted at various millitary hospital. It was also to create awareness amongst the blood donors about the importance of the voluntary blood donation. To promote the blood banks for any urgent and serious requirnments .To promote and emphasize the self esteem of blood donors mostly youth . To motivate the donors to donate blood voluntarily who can further motivate their relatives and friends.

Principal of DPMI Aruna Singh encouraged the donors by saying that blood donationis not a small donation ,it save someone precious life. Blood donation is a major concern for the society as donated blood is lifesaving for individuals who need it . There is a shortage of active blood donors to meet the need of increased blood demand. Blood donation acts as a therapeutic exercise. Globally, approximately 80 million units of blood are donated each year.
