Dental Health Camp

Aligarh: Faculty members and students of the Department of Periodontics and Community Dentistry, Dr Z A Dental College (ZADC), Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) conducted dental checkups and disseminated information on dental hygiene and health in a special ‘Oral Health Screening and Awareness Program’ and ‘Dental Health Camp’ at the Green Crescent Public School, Medical Road.

“Oral hygiene is an important aspect of our overall health and taking good care of our teeth keeps us away from various diseases. It is especially important to teach children to take proper care of their oral hygiene and also conduct regular check up of their oral hygiene”, said Dr R K Tewari (Principal, ZADC)

According to Dr Vivek Kumar Sharma (Chairman, Department of Periodontics and Community Dentistry): “Overall 62 students out of 185 students, screened at the camp were found to be suffering with bad oral hygiene and dental issues such as nursing bottle caries, retained deciduous, teeth with depositions of stains and calculus. These students were referred to ZADC for further treatments”.

Prof N D Gupta, Prof Afshan Bey, Prof Neha Agrawal, Dr Shadab M Rizvi, Dr Pramod Kumar Yadav and Dr Syed Amaan Ali conducted the dental screening and raised awareness on oral health.
