Department of Applied Sciences, CGC Landran organises workshop

The Department of Applied Sciences, CEC-CGC Landran recently organised a day-long workshop on web development for its students. It was aimed at inculcating them with a foundational understanding of the key aspects of web development through hands-on exercises and tutorials using VS code, under the guidance of the invited subject expert. 60 students participated in the session. The workshop helped the participants gain conceptual clarity about HTML, CSS and relevant frameworks enabling them to become  proficient in creating well-structured, visually appealing websites; learning to apply the technical skills gained thus in real-time scenarios,  said Prof. (Dr.) Harpal Singh, HoD, Department of Applied Sciences, CEC- CGC Landran. The workshop was conducted by Ms. Anita Sharma, Assistant Vice President Training, HopingMinds. In addition to getting acquainted with the fundamentals of structuring webpages with HTML the students also gained an insight about semantic HTML, CSS selectors, layout techniques and responsive design principles. The workshop focused on enhancing the students’ ability to write clean and efficient code.
