Department of Cardiology organises workshop on AICD

Aligarh : The Department of Cardiology, JN Medical College, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) organised an academic workshop with focus on Automatic Internal Cardiac Defibrillator (AICD), which was well attended by senior residents pursuing DM course.

Dr Rajat Sharma, a renowned cardiologist and electrophysiologist from Mohali and Dr Sandeepan from Medtronics held multiple sessions on AICD interrogation, trouble-shooting, analysing the data, inappropriate and appropriate shocks and how to rectify issues.

Prof Asif Hasan, Chairman said that AICD is a device which is implanted in the patients who are at risk of sudden death due to ventricular tachyarrythmias.

Prof Malik Azharuddin, Prof Shaad Aqbari, Dr Moaaz Kidwai along with cath lab senior technicians, Mr Abbas and Shamshad attended the programme.
