Department of Environmental Sciences and NSS Unit of Government Degree College Kilam organises seminar on ‘Cleanliness: Way of Life’

KULGAM : The Department of Environmental Sciences and NSS Unit of Government Degree College Kilam today organised a seminar on the theme ‘Cleanliness: Way of Life’.

At the outset, Principal of the college, Prof. Dilruba Rasool Hamdani emphasised on the importance of cleanliness in our daily life. She said that cleanliness is not only keeping our body, house and work place clean but also keeping our surroundings and environment clean.

The proceedings of the programme were carried by Niyaz Ahmad Khan (HOD Environmental Science). While conceptualizing the theme of the seminar he highlighted that we should not confine cleanliness drives to weeklong affairs, seminar and debates only nor to outside looks and surroundings alone, rather one must take cleanliness as a habit and the drive of it must come from the heart.

He said parents and teachers must provide awareness and encourage children to adopt the habit of cleanliness and make this a part of our lives.

The first, second and third positions were secured by Sobey Jan of sixth semester, Mahkee Jan of sixth semester and Urmila Ashaq of fourth Semester respectively. The Certificates were distributed among all the participants and position holders.

The programme concluded with the vote of thanks proposed by Ashaq Hussain Bhat, HOD Zoology.
