Department of Music, Government College for Women (GCW) Udhampur organizes Inter-College Online Quiz

Udhampur: To commemorate the International Day of Yoga and World Music Day-2021, the Department of Music, Government College for Women (GCW) Udhampur organized an inter-college online quiz on the theme ‘Music and Yoga’.

The programme was organized under the supervision of Principal Prof. Minu Mahajan.

The Principal lauded the efforts of the Music Department for organizing the event of great importance in the institution. She urged for holding more such programmes in the institutions for the awareness of youngsters regarding yoga etc. She reiterated that Music and Yoga are considered as parts of alternative medicine and both possess extraordinary healing powers. Students of various colleges of UT, J&K participated in the inter-college online quiz contest with great enthusiasm.

Later, the department of Music also distributed e-Certificates among the students who scored 60% and above.

Earlier, Head of Department of Music, Dr. Seema Sharma gave brief resume of the activities being carried out by the Music Department time to time. She also said that music and yoga are interrelated both World Music Day and International Day of Yoga are celebrated on the same day on 21st June.
