Dept of Commerce, Aligarh Muslim University organises ‘Water Conservation’ Awareness Program

Aligarh: In line with the Ministry of Human Resource Development led pan-India campaigns on water conservation and Swachhata Pakhwada, the Department of Commerce, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) organized a ‘Water Conservation’ Awareness Program to raise consciousness for the immediate need to save water.

“Rainwater harvesting, watershed management and different ways to prevent depletion of groundwater were the focal points of the awareness program,” said Prof Nawab Ali Khan, Chairman, Department of Commerce.

Coordinating the programme, Dr Naghma Azhar and Dr Almas Sultana said that it is important to address people on the serious water crisis which is gripping many parts of the country.

Faculty members and students during a special session discussed how waste water can be utilised in a number of ways.

Students and teachers also pledged for efficient use of water.
