Deputy Commissioner Kathua reviews BBBP, OSC for women

Kathua: Deputy Commissioner, O P Bhagat, today chaired a meeting of district officers regarding implementation of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao and One Stop Centre for women in the district.
Additional Deputy Commissioner, Ghanshyam Singh, Assistant Commissioner Development, Sukhpal Singh, Chief Education Officer, T R Mangotra, CPO, Uttam Singh, DSWO, Abdul Rahim, DYSSO, Sunil Kumar besides other officials were present in the meeting.
Detailed presentation on implementation of BBBP scheme and One Stop Centre was given before the Chair. It was decided in the meeting that a calendar of activities will be prepared in consultation with different departments so that the objectives of the scheme can be achieved collectively.
Workshop for Sarpanchs/Panchs, self defence camp for girl students, debates, exposure tours, training for ASHA and Anganwari workers, 24X7 women helpline number, strict implementation of PC & PNDT Act, Telemedicine facility in district and block level, vocational training to females are few activities which should be organized by different departments jointly to create positive outlook regarding girl child and improve the Sex Ratio of the district.
Enumerating about One Stop Centre in the district, DC directed the concerned officers for opening of women facilitation centre in the city with services of medical help, legal services, police assistance and counselling.
DC exhorted upon the concerned to involve Panchayati Raj Institutions in conducting awareness activities under BBBP for effective implementation of this ambitious scheme.
