‘Design Culture Learning Series 2’ concludes at ARCH College of Design & Business
Jaipur : Continuing the efforts to inculcate design as a culture and way of life among its students, Arch College of Design and Business organized a series of online presentations of some of the most prominent designers and professionals in the country. Over a period of four weeks, twelve sessions unfolded the various aspects of design, its process and thinking.
As the online Design Learning Series was organised for the second time in a row, Ms. Archana Surana, Founder & Director, Arch College of Design and Business said, “We at ARCH are passionate about design and we believe that design is a culture and way of life. We believe that the design industry is beyond glamour and glitter. We are extremely happy on the successful completion of the second edition of the Design Culture Learning series 2. This is our way to showcase the larger picture of the design sector through fruitful discussions with designers, academicians, scholars and experts.”
The learning series over four weeks has been categorized into four sub themes, one for each week.
Week 1 – CREATIVITY 5.0
During the first week, the experts like Shail Choyal, Sarita Sundar, Sudhir Kasliwal participated and discussed subjects like Visual Arts and Creativity’, Ten tenets: an overview of 3 decades of creative research and professional practice, Creative evolution of jewellery in Jaipur the series gives a deep insight into the world of creativity.
Week 2 – SOCIETY 5.0
Society 5.0 is defined as human centric society to resolve socio economic issues by integrating the cyberspace and the physical space, involving enormous opportunities and challenges for the 21st century. During the second week, the series discusses subjects like A craft-driven design practice to bring about a social impact, Design thinking for Start-ups, From A leaf to a forest: An essential journey in Designing Value driven Technology giving remarkable insights into the new normal we face today. The week 2 witnessed the participation of experts such as Aditi Babel, Vaidyanathan A, Arun Cherian.
Week 3 – HARMONIOUS LIVABILITY
Ajay Mehta, Poonam Bir, Rajagopalan Palamadai brought out important topics such as Curating spaces for attention & love, Design for Behavior Change, Design Matters.
Week 4 – DESIGN LEADERSHIP
In the final week of the series, the subject of Design Leadership for the future is discussed by Narendra Sharma, Shivani Singhal, Anthony Lopez. Topics highlighted are Thought Leadership for design, Hidden Design – how design secretly shapes our choices, The why of Design by experienced experts in the design leadership domain.
