Development activities gaining momentum in district Samba amid covid-19
Samba: To assuage the impact of the second wave of covid pandemic on workforce, the district administration Samba has resumed developmental activities in a big way.
Deputy Commissioner Anuradha Gupta said that after the specific directions of JK Government, the development works are finding pace amidst covid-19 pandemic in district Samba.
“In these challenging times development works need to be prioritized as with shrinking avenues in corona curfew, unorganized labourers have hopeful prospect” said DC Samba. The development works including schemes under PWD, PHE, PMGSY and other various schemes have picked up pace in the district, she added.
While giving the details of development works under the PWD sector, the Executive Engineer said that Black topping of Vijaypur Ramgarh Road, sanctioned under languishing project scheme at an estimated cost Rs 1.80 crore, is 70% complete.
“The length of Vijaypur Ramgarh- SM Pura (double lane) under CRF is 15 km. The other project Samba-Sumb Road (double-lane) is 75% complete, while the work of Vijaypur-Ramgarh SM Pura and Samba-Sumb road, which was held up and was resumed with intervention of District administration, is now nearing completion“ said the XEN PWD.
While giving details of development works under Jal Shakti department, it was informed that Rs 3.64 Crore Tubewell water supply scheme at Rarian Panchayat was inaugurated recently. “The material for WSS Palli, WSS Channi Kartholi under JJM has been procured and all works have been started” said the XEN PHE.
Many development works under PMGSY, RDD, IWMP, CAPEX and other schemes are also at full pace amid strict adherence to SoPs, the concerned officers said. “Masks, sanitizers, head covers, social distancing and other measures and equipment are being ensured at construction sites in district Samba” informed the concerned officers.
