DG YSS declares open Inter district UT level Sqay Martial Art, Pencak Silat championship

Jammu: Inter district UT level Sqay Martial Art AAG Boys & Girls and Pencak Silat U-19 Boys and Girls championship started today at the Indoor Stadium of University of Jammu.

The Championship was declared open by Director General Youth Services and Sports, Dr Saleem Ur Rehman; in presence of Joint Director, Youth Services and Sports, Bashir Ahmad; Director Physical Education Jammu University, Dr Davood Iqbal Baba; District Youth Services and Sports Officer Budgam, Sunil Singh Sambyal; District Youth Services and Sports Officer Jammu, Sukhdev Sharma and other officers/ officials of the department.

The championship has been organised by Department of Youth Services and Sports, Budgam and athletes of fourteen districts, five of Jammu division and nine of Kashmir division are participating in the twin events. Around 421 Boys and Girls will display their mettle in the twin events.

The DG, in his inaugural address, said that such championships provide an opportunity to students/ participants to showcase their capabilities and talent. He also appreciated the efforts of Youth Services and Sports Budgam for organizaing the championship in Jammu, setting an example of national integration.
