DHSK reviews functioning of department, arrangements for Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra-2021

 

Srinagar: Director Health Services Kashmir (DHSK), Dr. Mushtaq Ahmad Rather today chaired a meeting to review the overall functioning of the department as well as arrangements for the forthcoming Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2021 at Regional Institute of Health and Family Welfare, Dhobiwan, Tangmarg.

The meeting was attended by the officers of the Directorate as well as Chief medical Officers and Medical superintendents of the Districts. The Epidemiologist Kashmir and members of the Divisional Covid control Room also attended the meeting.

During the meeting detailed discussions were held on Covid control strategies and the response of the health department for the challenges ahead.

The Director appreciated the hard work done by the health staff during the Covid pandemic. He asked the officers to focus on issues pertaining to vaccine hesitancy, improving vaccination coverage and handling the increase in the number of cases besides challenges posed by increasing tourist arrivals and preparedness of the department were also discussed.

The Director sought feedback from the field functionaries, who apprised him about the practical problems that arise in the field.

The Director also discussed in detail the preparedness of the department for the forthcoming Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra-2021. He issued directions to the CMOs to revamp the emergency and casualty handling capabilities of the Department, which will also prove useful during the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra-2021.

The meeting also discussed the status of the equipment received through World Bank funding, status of languishing projects, up-gradation of designated hospitals as model hospitals, Ayushman Bharat Project, Jan Aashudi Kendras, Health and Wellness Centres, Pradhan Mantri National Dialysis Program and other centrally sponsored programs and schemes.

The Director asked the officers to work with added dedication, hold regular meetings in their districts, make frequent tours in their areas and ensure delivery of routine activities without affecting Covid related activities.
