Dia Mirza Visits Teach For India Classroom, Talks Environment Protection with Kids

Mumbai: On Saturday, the 7th of December- Teach For India, a non-profit organisation working towards the vision of an excellent education for all children, welcomed Dia Mirza, celebrated actress and UN Goodwill Ambassador, to spend some time with an enthusiastic class of kids in the 6th Grade, in a meet and greet at the Shastri Nagar Municipal Public School in Kalina.

Dia was accompanied by Dr. Parvish Pandya, a professor and a naturalist from Sanctuary Asia- who engaged the kids in a variety of fun activities that helped them cultivate a more conservation focussed mindset. For her part, Dia spoke passionately to the kids about the urgent need to care for our earth and led the class in a pledge to use sustainable materials, to completely reject single-use plastic, and continue to be ecologically sensitive.

Before she left, the students presented her with cards to celebrate her birthday, and made various pieces of art for her as mementos, a heart-warming surprise for Dia. The visit was full of laughter and learning, leaving both Dia and the class of children with fond memories of a day well spent.
