DIC Shopian organises awareness programme
Shopian: The District Industries Centre (DIC) Shopian in collaboration with Government Degree College, Shopian today organised an awareness programme regarding employment generation and entrepreneurship development programme at Conference hall of Government Degree College, Shopian.
The unemployed Youth of Shopian District who participated in this awareness programme in large numbers, were encouraged to avail the loans and incentives under Prime Ministers Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) and other schemes being provided by State and Central Government through the department of Industries and Commerce.
During the awareness programme, young entrepreneurs were informed about the Prime Ministers Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) scheme wherein loan up to Rs. 25 lakh is provided for manufacturing Units and Rs.10 lakh for the Service Sector Units.
These Youth were also made aware about various Industrial incentives available to them under the Industrial Development and New Industrial Policy. They were also informed about the procedure for availing incentives like Capital Investment Subsidy and Central Interest Subsidy.
The Youth appreciated the efforts of the Industries and Commerce Department and called for holding more such awareness programmes to generate awareness among the unemployed youth of the district at the grassroots level.
On the occasion, Lead District Manager,(LDM) Shopian, G.M.Dar, General Manager, District Industries Centre (DIC), Shopian and other speakers highlighted the loan facilities being provided to the unemployed youth to stand on their own legs and earn livelihood with ease.
Among others Principal Government College, Shopian, officers and other concerned were present at the event.
