DIC Shopian organises ‘Mushaira’

Shopian: The District Information Centre (DIC) Shopian today organised a Mushaira in collaboration with Koshur Forum Shopian within the premises of Koshur Forum at Batapora, here.

The District Information Officer (DIO) Shopian, Showkat Ahmad Khan was the Chief Guest on the occasion. He appreciated the poets and writers for their contribution towards the promotion of Kashmiri culture and literature.

The DIO said that their contribution promotes the Kashmiri culture besides the local tradition and customs. He said that the DIC is trying its best to reach out to young and talented youth and involve them to know and adopt cultural heritage which is a preserved gift from our ancestors.

Meanwhile, the program was presided over by Mohd Yaqoub Naseem and the proceedings were conducted by Jan Nisar Ahmad.

As many as 16 poets participated in the Mushaira including Jan Nisar Ahmad, Hamid Nasir, Gulzar Deva, Bashir Ah Bhat, Showkat Ali Khan, Gh Hassan Shaheen, Mohammad Shafi Niyaz, Mushtaq Mazroor, Gulzar Bhat, Abdul Aziz Malik, Mohammad Shafi , Haneef Naikoo, Gulzar Dehal and others .

Later Vote of thanks was presented by Jan Nisar Ahmad who hailed the active support of the District Information Centre Shopian for its support in organising such events.
