DIC Shopian organizes Mehfil-e-Mushaira (Eid-Milad-Un-Nabi) at Dunaroo Keller, Shopian ; Awareness on CAB, distribution of Masks held

 

SHOPIAN : To encourage and promote the culture of Tribal Community, the District Information Centre (DIC) Shopian today organized a Mehfil-e-Mushaira (Eid-i-Milad-un-Nabi) at Dunaroo (a Tribal Community), near Ziarat-i-Baba Azim Shah Gazi (RA) a far-flung and last village of Keller, Shopian.

District Information Officer (DIO) Shopian, Showkat Ahmed Khan was the Chief Guest and President, Azad Cultural Society, Thairun, Keller Shopian, Bashir Ahmed Parwana, was the Guest of Honour at the event.

Intizamia Committee Ziarat-i-Baba Azim Shah Gazi, a large number of Tribal Community Members (Male & Female ) including School going Children participated in this Mehfl-e-Mushaira.

The function started with Naat-i-Sharief in which many poets who had come from far-flung areas of the Shopian district mesmerized the audience with their poetic recitations.

During the Mushaira, Bashir Ahmed Parwana, Abdul Khaliq Khaksar, Abdul Aziz Zargar, Parvaiz Ahmad Dar, Mohammad Amin, Gh. Ahmed Showkeen, Hafiz Nazakat Ahmed, Mufti Javid Iqbal, Farzana Kowsar, Jozia Kowsar, Naseem Akhter and Rubeena Kowsar besides other poets recited their poetry which enthralled the audience.

The poets while reciting poetic verses emphasised and stressed the people to play a vital role in eradicating evil effects from the society and curb it completely and forever.

At the outset, guests were welcomed and the presidential address was delivered by a renowned poet Mufti Javid Iqbal.

DIC Shopian also distributed Masks and Sanitizers among the people on this occasion to aware them to strictly adhere to the Covid Appropriate Behaviour (CAB), to avoid further spread of the virus, thus saving precious lives. The DIC exhorted them to maintain social distance and avoid gatherings when going out of their homes.

The organizers said such functions shall be held in future as well as they provide a platform to literary and creative activities especially to Tribal Community and help in their nourishment.

A colourful cultural programme and Qawali was also presented by the artists on the occasion.
