Digital workshops for children to overcome the stress and anxiety during the long lockdown and staying indoors by Routes2Roots

New Delhi: Routes 2 Roots a premier cultural NGO which even in this time of Pandemic has not remained behind in helping the people and especially the children to overcome the stress and anxiety during the long lockdown and staying indoors.

Routes 2 Roots through its flagship program VIRSA has developed a digital medium to reach the homes of the students and is holding Digital interactive workshops daily. The students are learning the art and culture of our country including stress management and mindfulness classes and are actively participating in these workshops which are keeping them interestingly engaged.

There are two main aspects to these workshops: 1. unlike the usual webinars where the participant is visible in a passport size photograph, Virsa broadcasts its workshop with a three-camera shoot and the teachers in the studio can interact with the students/teachers/parents in an atmosphere of the virtual classroom created in everyones home. 2. There are no geographical limitations, hence students from all over the country join these workshops.

It is very easy for the children to join these workshops. They can click on the link provided by our team and can join a live interactive session at 8:30am to 10:30 and 11:30am to 1:30pm, or log on to our channel on youtube R2R Virsa and see the live workshop, and in case they wish to see our previous workshops or classes then they can log on to our web site www.r2rvirsa.com or subscribe to our youtube channel. All these classes/ workshops are provided to the children free of cost. The workshops being held are in various disciplines viz. Hindustani vocal music, Kathak, Bharatnatyam, Theater, stress management and mindfulness, and Yoga. These workshops are scientifically designed and each workshop starts with the students being informed about the roots and history of that particular discipline, thereafter performance by the Guru and teaching the children the intricacies of that art form followed by question and answers and listening to their experiences. The workshop is typically for 2 to 2.30 hrs.

The feedback that we are receiving from the children/parents and teachers are overwhelming and encourages us to continue our endeavor and have extended the workshops which were to end in April to May and even further.
