Diplomats from 20 Countries participate in Study in India Diplomatic Conclave
New Delhi: As part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsava, celebrations of the 75 years of India’s independence, EdCIL organized ‘Study in India’ Diplomatic Conclave for showcasing the education sector of India, particularly the policies and schemes for providing education opportunities to foreign students.
The event was held at Sushma Swaraj Bhawan, New Delhi on 24 February, 2022 with participation of diplomats from 20 countries.
Diplomats from Bangladesh, Bhutan, Cambodia, Egypt, Ethiopia, Ghana, Iraq, Mali, Mauritius, Morocco, Oman, Philippines, Rwanda, Saudi Arabia, Sri Lanka, Sudan, Tunisia, Yemen, Zambia, Zimbabwe participated in this conclave. It was inaugurated by the Union Minister of State for External Affairs and Education Rajkumar Ranjan Singh.
In his opening remarks MoS Ranjan Singh emphasized the opportunities available to International students under ‘Study in India’ programme of Government of India to strengthen the association among countries in the education sector.
“Potential, and in fact the need for greater understandings between countries and partners, through educational exchanges, is profound. Educational exchanges, not only helps us bridge the gap between needs of societies and requisite skill sets, but also helps in better understanding of each other’s societies. It is only apt that we promote these exchanges,” said MoS Singh, welcoming the diplomats.
The aim of the ‘Study in India Diplomatic Conclave’ was to promote the sharing of best academic and research practices through interactions between diverse education systems through the foreign Dignitaries who further helped in understanding higher education systems followed in diverse international markets. Foreign Dignitaries also shared their views about education system of their respective country, and their views on Indian Education System, the competence of our teaching pedagogy and any other specific features experienced by them while interacting with Indian academicians. They also shared their expectations and challenges faced by the students of their respective countries.
The programme has partnered with 100+ premier Indian institutes like IIMs, IITs, NITs, private and government institutes shortlisted on basis of NIRF top 100 rankings and NAAC accreditation score (3.26 or above out of 4). These Institutes are offering attractive tuition fee waiver of up to 100% to bright international students with courses ranging across UG, PG, PhD & niche segments through the SII portal (www.studyinindia.gov.in).
The process of admission at “Study in India” is completely online where a student has to go on the website (www.studyinindia.gov.in), register, login, fill the student information, choose courses with fee waivers in top institute of their choice and submit the application. After the Mock and Final Counselling rounds, your chosen colleges will get back to you with the Allotment letter. The complete process is free of cost.
