DIPR hosts cultural program on Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav at Udhampur
UDHAMPUR : As part of the celebration of “Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav (India@75), Department of Information & Public Relations Cultural Wing, Jammu, in collaboration with District Information Centre, Udhampur, today organized a cultural programme in the premises of Gujjar & Bakerwal Hostel Udhampur.
Warden Gujjar & Bakerwal Hostel Udhampur, Shakeel Ahmed was the chief guest, while District Information Officer, Udhampur Rajinder Kumar Digra was the guest of honour.
Addressing the participants, the Chief Guest hailed the information department for presenting such a beautiful cultural programme on Azaadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav to mark the 75 years of India’s Independence. He appreciated the efforts of the Information Department for creating awareness through the cultural activities & urged the Department to hold more such events in the near future. He also highlighted the significance of the Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav event & its celebration.
Artists of the Cultural Wing Jammu and District Information Centre, Udhampur, including Mohinder Panchairvi, Balbir Singh, Suresh Kumar, Amit Kumar, Rakesh Kumar presented a scintillating musical program featuring patriotic and Folk songs which was highly appreciated by everyone with repeated rounds of applause.
District Information Officer Udhampur, also spoke on the occasion and said that the main aim of the programme was to celebrate the country’s glory and progress which it achieved in 75 years. He said such programmes are bound to improve self confidence and esteem of the children and encouraged them to pursue and improve hidden talent.
The proceedings of the programme were conducted by Suresh Kumar.
Among others, officials of the Information department besides Staff members and students of the hostel were also present on the occasion.
