DIPR Kathua centre organises Multilingual Mushaira

 

KATHUA : Under its series of initiatives to mark ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ celebrations, the District Center of Department of Information and Public Relations(DIPR) today organized a Multilingual Mushaira here at Government College for Women.

Professor Ashwini Khajuria was the chief guest of the event which was attended by the staff and students with due adherence to Covid safety protocls.

Renowned poets presented their poetry in Hindi, Urdu, Punjabi and Dogri languages on Patriotism, drug addiction, female feticide, women empowerment, gender disparity, illiteracy and dowry system.

One of the poets recited “Seema ke prahari mere desh ke, tujhe koti koti pranaam” another poet recited ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav Aao mil kar Manein hum’. A poet through his poem appealed people to continue to follow Covid Appropriate Behavior for their own and others safety.

Prominent among the poets who recited their writings included Vijay Sharma, Usha Monga, Shashi Sharma, Sham Lal Khajuria, Balak Ram Mehra, T.R. Sumbria, Saroj Bala, Sunita Sharma and R.S.Katal.

Speaking on the occasion, Professor Ashwini Khajuria expressed gratitude to the Information Department for organizing such types of informative programmes, which he said not only enrich knowledge but also boost the patriotic zeal among the listeners. He asked the Information Department to organize such programmes in future also in the college.
