UDHAMPUR : To generate awareness among the common masses especially Students regarding the Cyber crimes in Modern world, Department of Information & Public Relations, District Information Centre, Udhampur today organized a symposium here in Captain Tushar Mahajan Government Girls Model Higher Secondary school.

Principal of the host school, Pawan Slathia was the chief guest, while District Information Officer, Udhampur Rajinder Kumar Digra presided over the programme on the occasion.

Around 11 students of the school participated in the symposium and threw light on the burning topic and shared their views regarding Cyber crime and how to curb such crimes.

While addressing the students, the chief guest applauded the efforts of the information department for organizing this awareness programme through Symposia. He urged upon the students to spread the message about the threat of Cyber crimes among the common masses and urged the department to hold more such events in the near future. He added that as the cyber crimes were increasing with growing speed & utility of the internet and Smartphones.

The District Information Officer also spoke on the occasion and informed students about the cyber crime, pros & cons of social networking sites and advised the students not to share their id passwords, bank account and other personal or professional details on the internet with unknown users & cross verify while sharing any information with respective departments & offices.

He also taught them how to use social networking sites like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and other operational sites with safety.

Later, merit cum participation certificates were distributed among the participants
