Dir Agriculture, DDC Member launch land levelling work for farmers training institute building at Lamberi

 

RAJOURI: Director Agriculture Jammu, KK Sharma and DDC member Sunderbani, Rajinder Kumar today kick started the land leveling work for the construction of Farmers’ training institute building here at Lamberi block of Rajouri district.

Among the others, ADC Sunderbani, Vinod Kumar Behnal; Chief Agriculture Officer, Mahesh Verma; SAO Nowshera; Farm Manager Lamberi, Ravti Soodan and farmers from adjoining areas were present on the occasion.

The Director, while speaking on the occasion, congratulated the farmers for the establishment of a Farmers training institute, which was a long pending department of the farmer community of the district.

“Presently the farmers of the district move out of the UT for receiving various farm related training which causes a huge inconvenience to them as much of their time is spent in commuting, but with the establishment of the farmers training institute in the district, their sufferings would be mitigated” the Director said. He said now the agricultural experts would be at their doorstep to benefit them with the latest know-how of the modern agricultural technologies.

The Director also informed that a number of schemes have been rolled out by the Government for the welfare of the farm community and asked the PRIs to disseminate information among the farmers in Gram Sabhas and motivate them to avail the benefits of the same.

Later the Director also paid a visit to the agriculture cluster at Thandapani area.

Meanwhile, the Director also convened a meeting with the field staff of the Agriculture Department and asked them to motivate the farmers to make best possible use of the modern agricultural technologies to enhance their income.
