Director Agri. inaugurates Hi-Tech Poly house at Baramulla
Baramulla: In order to provide a backup to upscale cropping intensity of vegetable seedlings under controlled conditions, a Hi-tech poly house was today inaugurated by Director Agriculture Kashmir Altaf Aijaz Andrabi at wagoora, Baramulla.
During the inauguration eve, the Director said that the Hi-tech poly houses will maximize the outreach among the enthusiastic growers by expanding the introduction of high value crops of Exotic vegetables for better remunerations.
Interacting with the farmers and enthusiastic growers, The Director said that the department is in mission mode to promote the vegetable sector of the valley and aims at providing more and more vegetable seedlings to the growers for achieving self-sufficiency in vegetables.
He said by erecting these hi-tech poly green houses the department will be able to provide three times more seedlings of hybrid, local as well as exotic vegetables to the growers so as to improve their well being.
Andrabi said the department aims to register a maximum number of growers to undertake vegetable cultivation. He asked the farmers to adopt this activity for domestic as well as commercial purposes.
Later Director visited the demonstration plot of Mushkabudji Rice at Kuchwa Muqam, Baramulla.
Among others, Joint Director Agriculture inputs Amir-ud-din Andrabi, Joint Director Agriculture Extension Chowdhary Mohammad Iqbal, Chief Agriculture Officer Baramulla besides farmers and growers of the area were present on the occasion.
