Director AH department inspects dairy units; listens farmers’ issues
Jammu: Director Animal Husbandry Department Jammu, Ms. Vivek Sharma, today conducted an extensive tour to Sohanjana, Prahladpur, Phallian —Mandal and other areas of the Jammu district.
During the tour to these places, the Director visited various dairies and took first hand information about the impact of various departmental activities as well as the difficulties being faced by the farming community.
The Director gave a patient hearing to the demands and issues projected by the livestock owners at various places and assured them of genuine redressal. She directed the field staff to be responsive towards the demands of the people associated with the livestock and popularize the recently launched Schemes like Integrated Dairy development Scheme 2020-21, J&K poultry Policy, 2020 to attract Investment in Poultry & create employment opportunities & Special Drive for providing of all dairy farmers of Milk co-operatives and milk producers with Kissan credit Cards (KCC’s) so that the benefits percolate down the grassroots level to boost the rural economy. She also laid stress on 100% enrolment of livestock owners & Poultry farmers under KCC on a mission mode.
Earlier the Director visited feed manufacturing units along with Joint Director Poultry, Jammu. During her interaction with the feed mill owners, it was emphasized to maintain the quality standards for the betterment of the livestock & poultry breeders. Other Departmental Officers also accompanied the Director during her visit.
