Director Health Services Kashmir visits Budgam; Inaugurates 5 days ‘Training for Trainees’

 

Budgam: The Director Health Services Kashmir, Dr. Mushtaq Ahmad Rather accompanied by OSD to Financial Commissioner Health Dr. Shafaqat Khan today inaugurated a 5 days ‘Training for Trainees’ programme at Conference hall here.

The training is meant to train the frontline workers by Doctors, paramedics to tackle the threat of a possible 3rd wave of Covid-19 Pandemic in the district.

Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Budgam, Dr. Tajamul Hussain and fraternity of Doctors, Paramedical staff presently engaged with Covid-19 measures were present on the occasion.

Later, in a meeting convened here, the Director said that the aim and objective of organising such a training session was to adopt a multipronged approach designed by J&K UT administration as a single projected initiative to combat 3rd wave of Covid-19.

He said we shall seek cooperation and support from all Panchayati Raj Institutions who shall involve committees on panchayat, block and village level, besides utilise services of revenue officials including numberdars and chowkidars for effective mobilization, and assist concerned medical staff in implementing all requisite guidelines as well as prevention methods.

The Director reiterated that they are fully prepared as well as equipped with all logistics to face any kind of challenge amid 3rd wave apprehensions.

He further said that in order to get all necessary machinery including ventilators functional, some doctors, paramedics are being deputed to SKIMS and JVC Bemina where they shall be given all necessary training for operating these kinds of machinery as well as equipment.

Earlier, CMO Budgam presented in detail the measures taken by the department in combating the 2nd wave of Covid-19 across the district, besides he also presented the status of availability of oxygen, patient care equipment, medicines and other accessories.

He also informed the Director about the positivity, recovery rate, testing status etc through a powerpoint presentation.

The ACD Budgam, Nuzhat Quereshi informed that till yesterday Covid Care Centres in about 270 panchayats out of 296 have been established with all requisite facilities. She further informed that for public mobilization, all PRIs are enthusiastically doing their part, which has boosted the vaccination process.
