Director, RDD Kashmir reviews status of flagship rural development schemes in Baramulla District
Emphasizes on timely completion of MGNREGA, CAPEX Budget works Appreciates efforts for rejuvenation of water bodies
BARAMULLA : Director, Rural Development (RDD) Kashmir, Tariq Ahmad Zargar Thursday visited Baramulla and chaired a meeting to review the implementation of RDD schemes and also took on spot appraisal of various works under execution in the District.
ACD Baramulla, ACP Baramulla, Executive Engineer (REW) Baramulla, BDOs and other officers were present in the meeting.
Status of flagship programmes including MGNREGA, PMAY-G and 14th FCA besides progress of works under the Capex Budget (CD &Pyt Sector), renovation and construction of Panchayat Ghars under RGSA and other matters were reviewed in detail.
It was informed that against the target of 8.49 Lakh persondays set for ending October 2021, 7.07 Lakh persondays were generated. Moreover, MGNREGA Wages are being released in time among the MGNREGA Job Card Holders and till date Rs 15 Crore have been paid as wage component besides 100% geo-tagging of assets and over 97% Aadhaar Seeding of Job Card Holders is complete.
Moreover, 96% target has been achieved under PMAY-G. Against the target of 339 housing units, 321 units have been completed in time. Similarly, work on 3 Panchayat Ghars taken up under RGSA has been completed and 3 more are under execution and near completion.
Director, RDD appreciated the efforts towards rejuvenation of water bodies and construction of Vermicompost pits under MGNREGA in the district. Out of 804 Vermicompost pits taken up under MGNREGA, 339 have been completed and remaining are at various stages of completion. Similarly, 754 water bodies have been taken up for rejuvenation and 29 augmented with PHE for drinking water.
Director, RDD Kashmir stressed on timely completion of all taken up works and underscored the need to proactively resolve the issues of the public and advised ACD, ACP, Exen and BDOs to undertake regular field visits to address issues and concerns, if any, of the people at the grass root level.
“Gram Sabhas should be regularly organized and PRIs actively involved in the developmental activities in each Panchayat besides general public made aware about the guidelines and benefits of the RDD Schemes under implementation” Director reiterated.
Later, Director, RDD Kashmir also inspected various on-going/ completed works executed in the district under different schemes. He also visited Sopore and Sangrama Blocks and inspected Football ground Peethseer, Public Park Sangrama, drains at Wagub and other works.
