Director RDD lauds efforts of PRIs on winning two National awards

Jammu: Director Rural Development Jammu Sudershan Kumar lauded the efforts of PRIs, officers and others staff members on winning two National awards in rural development.
Director said that these achievements are the outcome of peoples’ participation in planning and execution of development works. He dedicated the awards to PRIs and officers/officials of Panchayat department.
He said that such awards motivate the Panchayat members to work with more zeal and enthusiasm for improving the overall scenario of villages.
It is pertinent to mention that Jamola Lower panchayat has been selected for Child-friendly Gram Panchayat Award, 2020 whereas Dhangri Upper panchayat has won Nanaji Deshmukh Rashtriya Gaurav Gram Sabha Puraskar, 2020 for impressive achievements in social and economic planning and development through Gram Sabhas. The awards carry cash prizes of Rs 5 Lakh and Rs 10 Lakh respectively. Both the Panchayats fall in Rajouri district of Jammu division.
