Distance learning through the eyes of adolescents

Associate Professor of the Department of Psychology Anita Vladislavovna Rumyantseva in her article analyzed the experience of distance learning through the eyes of adolescents. With the help of content analysis of messages in social networks, subjective representations of the experience of a distant student of eighth-graders in Petrozavodsk schools were analyzed. The categories were identified, which they operate without the pressure of the factor of social desirability, and the frequency of their occurrence was studied. Typical technical and organizational difficulties and benefits of online learning are described.

Among the technical difficulties, problems with e-mail and the functioning of services predominate. Among the organizational ones, there are difficulties in understanding the task, a large volume of tasks and an inaccurate assessment of their labor intensity. Teenagers experienced difficulties in using a smartphone, since the gadget was not adapted for completing assignments, as well as with communication with teachers in a business format.

The results of the analysis were published in the scientific electronic journal of the university “Continuing education: XXI century” .

The article aroused interest in the educational community. Its discussion was published in the independent publication Uchitelskaya Gazeta , as well as in the online magazine Lyceum .
