District Adm Rajouri finalises District Environment Plan

Rajouri: District Development Commissioner Rajouri, Rajesh Kumar Shavan today chaired a meeting of the District Environment Committee for the finalization of the District Environment Plan.

The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Sher Singh; Divisional Forest Officer Rajouri, Arshdeep Singh; Divisional Forest Officer Nowshera, Suresh Panda; SE Hydraulics, SR Shakula, General Manager DIC Manzoor Hussain; DMO Rajouri, EO’s of different MC of Rajouri and other members of the Committee.

The DDC said the action plan aims at improving overall parameters of the environment in the district includes solid waste management, biomedical waste management, construction and demolition waste, polluted river stretches, industrial pollution control, utilisation of treated sewage, conservation of water bodies, e-waste management, prevention of illegal sand mining, widespread measures to curb the use of plastic/ polythene, community participation and mass awareness, water conservation, measures aimed at curbing air and water pollution and grievance redressal mechanism, besides to identify the other parameters causing an effect to the district environment.

After a threadbare discussion, the Committee finalised the District Environmental plan envisaging several activities to be taken up by different Departments during the next year.

The District Development Commissioner asked the Member secretary District Environmental Committee to organise monthly meetings of the committees for review and to chalk out better strategies for the realization of better results.
