District Admin, ACB Jammu organises Vigilance Awareness event in Kishtwar
Debate Competition, Rally organised at GDC DC urges stakeholders to work for evolving corruption Free society
KISHTWAR : In continuation to the special series of activities being conducted across the UT of J&K under Vigilance Awareness Week from 31st of October to 6th of November 2022, an awareness/ sensitisation programmes were today held in Conference Hall of DC Office Complex Kishtwar and GDC Kishtwar.
During the awareness program at Conference Hall DC Office Kishtwar, SSP Anti Corruption Bureau Jammu, Sandeep Wazir gave a powerpoint presentation and elaborated in detail the forms, causes and repercussions of Corruption in the society.
He also deliberated on the laws and rules dealing with Corruption and procedures to deal with this menace, besides discussing the importance of Corruption free society.
“ Corruption in any of its forms is an impediment in the overall development of the system and the society,” he said and elaborated that the theme of this year Vigilance Awareness Week is “Corruption Free India for A Developed Nation”.
The DC, Devansh Yadav, while addressing the District/ Sectoral Officers and PRIs, said that Corruption, Nepotism and Favouritism are because of the immoral and unethical mindset of some of the public servants.
He stated that there was a need to work together to eradicate corruption and oppose all forms of corruption. Stressing that the Administration was committed to provide corruption free governance and quality services, he sought cooperation of all stakeholders in eradicating this social evil and urged them to work towards making Kishtwar a corruption free district.
He also urged the DVOs to keep close vigil on the subordinate staff and dispose of the grievances and cases in fixed timelines.
ADDC, Sham Lal, while speaking on the occasion, encouraged the stakeholders to contribute their bit in the fight against corruption and to raise public awareness regarding the existence, causes and gravity of corruption besides the threat posed by it.
District Vigilance Officer (ADC) Kishtwar, Kishori Lal Sharma, while speaking on the occasion, shared glaring examples of the corruption in the society and urged all the participants to spread awareness about the ill effects of the corruption.
He stated that unnecessary delay in work culture/Services also breeds Corruption and stressed upon District /Sectoral Officers to follow the PSGA Act and adopt Zero tolerance towards corruption.
Principal DIET, Ashok Kumar, CEO, Sudershan Kumar, Sarpanch Poochal A1, Subash Chander also spoke on the occasion and threw light on the corruption and the importance of observance of Vigilance Awareness Week.
Among others present were Addl SP Kishtwar Rajinder Singh; ACR Kishtwar Varunjeet Singh Charak; Joint Director Planning Kishtwar Mohd Iqbal; ACP Kishtwar, Zakir Wani; ACD Kishtwar, Atul Dutt Sharma, SDM Chatroo/Paddar, DPO Kishtwar, Sunil Bhutyal; District/Sectoral Officers, PRIs and ACB team members DySP Shiv Kumar, Inspector Sajad Haider and XEn ACB Devraj Bhagat.
In another programme held at GDC Kishtwar, a debate competition was held on the theme “Corruption Free India and Developed Nation” to commemorate Vigilance Awareness week wherein a number of students and Faculty members of College took part.
First, Second and third winners were also felicitated by the dignitaries on the occasion.
Thereafter, a rally was organized in which SSP ACB Jammu, ADC Kishtwar, Principal GDC Kishtwar, members of ACB Jammu, Staff of GDC, scores of students from GDC Kishtwar,Govt Higher Secondary School Boys and Girls Kishtwar participated.
The Students raised Slogans ‘Say no to Corruption’ during the rally which started from GDC Kishtwar and culminated at BakBanglow Kishtwar.
