District Administration forms multiple teams for restoration of services at Bandipora
Bandipora: On the directions of Deputy Commissioner Bandipora Dr Owais Ahmad, a team of senior officers of the District Administration today toured various areas of the district to take first-hand account of the snow clearance operation and restoration/delivery of essential services.
Additional District Development Commissioner Afsar Ali Khan visited Sumlar, Shokbaba, Arin, Nadihal, Papchan, Bonakoot and Pethkoot and supervised the snow clearance and restoration of electricity and water supply in these areas.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Bandipora Zahoor Ahmad Mir visited District Hospital Bandipora to inspect the Healthcare services being provided to the people. He interacted with the patients to get the feedback and also interacted with the doctors. He urged doctors to ensure better healthcare facilities to the patients and better heating arrangements in wards.
Mir, who was accompanied by Tehsildar Bandipora and Tehsildar Aloosa, also visited Aloosa Main Market and adjoining areas of the town to review the snow clearance operations in lanes and by-lanes. He directed the Municipal authorities to ensure immediate and prioritised clearance of snow from footpaths, internal lanes and by-lanes.
Sub-Divisional Magistrate Sumbal Dr Bashir Ahmad Lone visited Nesbal, Shadipora, Nowgam, Shilvat, Gansatan, Magam, Gadkhud, Gamdu, Shiganpora, Rakh-e-Shilvat, Check-Ganastan, Sumbal , Markundal, Hajin, Rakh-e-Hajin, Madwan and Mukdamyari areas of Sumbal Sub-Division to review the snow clearance operation and restoration works of power and water supply.
He also inspected Healthcare institutions, receiving stations and PHE Sub Stations to review the restoration works of electricity and power supply besides snow clearance of roads. During the visit he passed on spot directions for redressal of grievances of the people.
Meanwhile different Market Checking teams headed by concerned Tehsildars in Bandipora, Hajin, and Sumbal towns inspected markets, petrol pumps, LPG distribution etc to inspect the availability of essential commodities and check arbitrary price hike in markets owing to heavy snowfall.
It was given out that there is a sufficient stock of essential commodities available in the district including LPG, ration, Vegetables and other essentials.
Moreover, regarding Snow Clearance, it was given out that 86 percent of Priority 1st Roads and 58 percent of Priority 2nd Roads have been cleared, and with regards to electricity restoration, all 16 Feeders have been restored in ED Bandipora and 20 out of 27 Feeders have been restored in ED Sumbal.
