District Disaster Management preparedness reviewed at Kulgam
Kulgam: The District Development Commissioner (DDC) Kulgam, Dr.Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat today chaired a meeting of concerned officers to review the District Disaster Management preparedness in the district.
Emphasizing on the foolproof readiness, the DDC directed all the officers to ensure all arrangements are in place for prompt and effective response to deal with any type of disaster.
He also directed them to establish a control room and to formulate a strong communication plan besides he also reviewed availability of equipments and resources that can be utilized during any emergency.
The DDC also instructed to identify land for disaster management huts.
Earlier, the DDC chaired a meeting to review implementation of catch the rain action plan.
He directed all the concerned to formulate a comprehensive and integrated action plan for rejuvenation and restoration of springs and other water bodies across the district.
Meanwhile, during the meeting it was informed that several water bodies were restored and under IWMP, 39 water bodies also stands restored whileas 35 more water bodies will be restored this fical.
The meeting was attended by ADDC, ADC, ACR, ACD, CPO, Ex. Engineers, PDD, Irrigation, PHE, EOs of Municipalities and other concerned Officers.
