District level cooking competition held at Reasi

Reasi: A District level Cooking Competition of Cook-Cum- Helpers under Mid Day Meal Scheme was today organized at Government Middle School Moori, Zone District Reasi under the guidance of Mission Director Mid Day Meal Scheme J&K UT, Dr Arun Manhas.
Cook-cum-Cook-cum helpers from all the 06 Zones of the district viz Arnas, Chassana, Chinkah, Mahore, Pouni and Reasi participated in the competition. The cook-cum-helpers prepared various dishes as per menu of Mid Day Meal Scheme. The objective of the competition was to sensitize Cook-cum helpers.
A panel comprising of 05 Judges adjudged best three positions in which Sonia Dogra Cook-cum-helper GHS Katra Zone Reasi got 1st prize of Rs. 3000 cash and trophy, 2nd prize of Rs. 2000 cash and trophy to Tirth Ram GMS Dughunder Zone Arnas and 3rd prize of Rs. 1500 cash and trophy to Javed Iqbal MS Dhamani Zone Chassana. Three consolation prizes of Rs. 500 each and trophies also given to Nirmla Devi HS Sersundwna Zone Chinkah, Moti Ram GPS Magaie Zone Pouni and Shabir Ahmed GMS Shajroo Zone Mahore. CEO Reasi has urged Mission Directorate MDM to initiate such competition at Zone level also.
Chief Education officer, Reasi, Mushtaq Ahmed, Rattna Lal Sharma Food Safety Officer Reasi, Tashi Wangyal ZEO Reasi, Ashok Kumar Sharma Sarpanch Panchyat Halqa were also present on occasion.
During the valedictory function and in their speech the officers from Mission Directorate MDM and Chief Education Officer, Reasi highlighted the importance of such type of competitions to explore the skill of cooking among the cook-cum-helpers working under Mid Day Meal Scheme.
