District level Kala Utsav 2022–23 organized in Kathua
KATHUA : A two day district level Kala Utsav 2022-23 competition was organized at Nav Adarsh Vidyalaya, Kathua among the winners of the regional level contest held earlier.
After the formal announcement of the start of Kala Utsav by the Directorate of SAMAGRA Shiksha Department, Jammu and Kashmir and Directorate of School Education, Jammu, the competition has reached at district level after inter-school and regional level rounds of the competition.
In Kathua, the event was organized under the guidance of P.L. Thapa, Chief Education Officer, who was also the Chief Guest at the district level program.
The Office inaugurated the event along with Kewal Krishan, District Education Planning Officer, Hrithik Prakash Singh, Principal of Nava Adarsh Vidyalaya (Kathua) and Gandharv Singh, Chairman of Nava Adarsh Vidyalaya. In his speech, the chief guest extended best wishes to the students. He encouraged the escort teachers who came with students to put in extra efforts to nurture the hidden talents in them.
Pawan Vivek (DRG, Kathua) and Monica Khosla (DICC, Kathua) prepared and coordinated the entire program.
The Kala Utsav was held with the support of the entire team of the Cultural and Educational Unit (Kathua). The program is being organized for 2 days i.e. 11th and 12th November, 2022 and the students participated with full enthusiasm on the very first day in which they performed traditional singing style, painting (two dimensional and three dimensional), Indian traditional sports Toys, art skills, use of musical instruments etc. were also successfully demonstrated. For the competition of singing and musical instruments.
The role of jury for the category of music was helmed by experts in the field such as Satish Kumar, Mohinder and Yogesh Kandle.
Kanwal Nain Kaur, Swatantra Bhagat and Punita Saini played the role of jury for three and two dimensional art work and painting competitions and for the competition of Indigenous Sports Toys. All ZICCs, Cultural Ambassadors also contributed towards the successful conduct of the program.
Deepak Sharma took over as the technical expert. Ravinder Singh (Senior Lecturer, Education) conducted the program.
The Kala Utsav competition is being organized by the Department of School Education and Literacy and Ministry of Education (Government of India) under SAMAGARA Shiksha for the 9th to 12th class students to further groom the artistic talent in them. The festival is organized separately for boys and girls in 10 categories at the district level after passing through the regional level.
