New Delhi: Avinash Kumar, District Magistrate (DM) of Hardoi in Uttar Pradesh, visited the HCL Samuday programme sites along with Chief Development Officer (CDO) of the district Akansha Rana to see the work done for Primary Education, Agriculture and Livelihood. HCL Samuday is an ambitious programme of HCL Foundation that has been working towards creating a sustainable, scalable, and replicable development model for rural India.

DM Hardoi visited gram panchayat Patseni Dehat and majra Devanpur and interacted with farmers to understand the agricultural practices followed by them to increase farm produce as well reviewed the nutrition gardens.

During his visit, Avinash Kumar, DM (Hardoi District) said, “HCL Samuday has been working diligently towards providing holistic development in Hardoi district. They have taken important steps to counter malnutrition by creating awareness around the concept of Nutrition Gardens in households so that young children and pregnant mothers can get a healthy diet without spending an extra penny. This also enables them to become self-reliant or “Atmanirbhar”. We are looking forward to extending our support to HCL Samuday team in their upcoming endeavours for rural India.”

Over the past six years, HCL Samuday has created a model of integrated and sustainable village development focused on six core areas – Agriculture, Education, Health, Environment, Livelihood, and WASH (Water, Sanitation & Hygiene). It works with local communities to identify problems, co-create solutions, and then implement them with professional support, thereby, lending the dimension of sustainability and ownership to the overall development agenda. HCL Samuday currently works in 11 blocks of Hardoi and has delivered a visible, measurable impact on improving the standard of life and livelihood opportunities for over 9 lakh people in the 1300 villages where it operates.
