Div Com chairs AEMC meet at Airforce Station Jammu
Jammu: Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Dr. Raghav Langer today chaired a meeting of Airfield Environment Management Committee at Air Force Station Jammu to discuss environmental concerns related to flight safety of Jammu Airbase.
The meeting was attended by various heads of departments of Jammu Administration which included Deputy Commissioner, Jammu, Airport Director, officials of Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC), Urban Environmental Engineering Department (UEED), Regional Director Pollution Control Board (PCB), Airport Authority of India (AAI), Forest and Wildlife Department, health services and irrigation department and Air Force officials which included Chief Operations Officer, Chief Engineering Officer, Chief Administration Officer and Aerospace Safety Officials of Air Force Station Jammu.
The discussion included follow up and bridging of ongoing projects to expedite completion, facilitation of new projects and discussion on emerging aspects towards meeting ongoing and continuous requirements of Aerospace safety in a dynamic aviation environment. Facilitation of new projects included the operationalisation of New Sewage Treatment plant at village Rakh Raipur, Belicharana, New Solid Waste Management plants Bandurakh and Kot Bhalwal and additional covering of portion of Landoi Choi Nallah in vicinity of the runway.
Detailed discussions were carried out towards expediting ongoing projects which included covering of Landoi Choi Nallah and further improving conservancy systems around the airfield area.
The Divisional Commissioner gave directions to all concerned departments to come together and work as a team to resolve emerging issues such as de-silting projects, incorporating monsoon proactive measures etc. towards enhancing Aerospace safety environment of Jammu.
The meeting witnessed a healthy coordination of military and civil departments towards achieving a common aim of enhancing safety of flight operations at Jammu and channelising efforts towards optimized conservation of environmental resources promising a safer, brighter and cleaner Jammu Airfield.
