Div Com reviews progress on Health sector projects executed under PMDP in Jammu division

 

JAMMU : Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Dr Raghav Langer today reviewed the status of several works/ projects being executed under Prime Minister’s Development Programme (PMDP) in the health sector across Jammu division.

The meeting was attended by Director Health Service Jammu, Dr Renu Sharma; Chief Engineer (PWD) R&B, DGM, JK Housing Board, DGM JKPCC besides senior functionaries of Police Housing Board and other concerned while Deputy Commissioners alongwith CMOs of districts of Jammu division participated in the meeting through video conferencing.

The Divisional Commissioner had an elaborate discussion on status of all major projects undertaken by different executing agencies. The impediments hampering the progress of these vital projects were also deliberated upon in detail.

The Div Com reviewed several projects being undertaken in districts of Jammu division in district hospitals, Sub District Hospitals, Primary Health Centres and other related works. He directed the executing agencies to ensure that all ongoing projects are completed within the set deadline.

It was informed that durable infrastructure is being created in District Hospitals, Sub-District Hospitals and Primary Health Centres of the UT.

During the meeting, the concerned officers apprised the Div Com about the present status of work on each ongoing project and shared future work plan. It was informed that majority of health sector buildings are near completion and the work was in progress.

The Div Com said up-gradation and strengthening of health care infrastructure is one of top most priority of the Lieutenant Governor as the Government is committed to provide better health care facilities to the public.

Referring to possible 3rd covid wave, the Div Com asked the engineers of executing agencies to work in double shifts and complete all these buildings so that the same can be used and dedicated to the public timely.

He directed the DCs to hold meetings with the concerned executing agencies, conduct visits to the work sites and review the progress on all the building projects regularly. He also directed the engineers to set timelines for completion of each component of projects and share the progress report on a regular basis.
