Div Com reviews security scenario, pace of work on border bunkers in Hiranagar Tehsil

Kathua: Divisional Commissioner, Sanjeev Verma today visited border tehsil Hiranagar and inspected the progress on under construction border bunkers and security arrangements put in place along the IB in view of Amaranth Yatra.
Divisional Commissioner was apprised by the Inspector General of BSF N.S Jamwal about the security arrangements put in place to thwart any threat. He said extra vigil is being maintained on the border in view of upcoming annual Amaranth Yatra.
The Div Com, accompanied by DDC Kathua O.P Bhagat, inspected ongoing work on construction of bunkers in border villages of Hiranagar tehsil.
The Div. Com directed the executing agencies to expedite the work of bunkers by adding extra men and machinery in the assigned task. He also directed XEN PWD (R&B) and XEN REW to complete their targets of bunkers without delay. He further called upon the engineers to adhere to the quality standards.
While discussing the security scenario for local farmers having land near border fencing, the Div Com directed DDC to motivate people to come forward and cultivate their lands as per the advisories of security agencies.
Later, the Divisional Commissioner also held review of the progress made under ‘Highway Village’ project & Way Side Amenities undertaken by National Highway Authorities, Amarnath yatra arrangements and Domicile Certificates.
He directed the DDC to furnish weekly progress-report regarding the issuance of Domicile Certificates in the district.
