DLSA Bhaderwah organises awareness programme on Solid Waste Management
BHADERWAH : District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Bhaderwah, under the Chairmanship of Principal District & Sessions Judge and under the supervision of Secretary DLSA Mudassir Farooq, today organised an awareness programme on “Solid Waste Management” and “No Plastic/Polythene usage, Conservation of Environment” here in the premises of Municipal Committee Bhaderwah.
The event was aimed at to educate the people of Bhaderwah about the significance of cleanliness and hygiene for sustainable development of the society besides ensuring safety and protection of children in educational institutions.
The Secretary DLSA highlighted the objectives of “Clean India, Green India” campaign and emphasized on strict enforcement of ban on use of polythene bags and proper disposal of both degradable and non-biodegradable waste. He stressed for strict adherence to the rules and regulations with regard to the Solid Waste Management for creating a healthy environment. Advocate Mohd Majid Malik, the resource person also enlightened the gathering about solid waste management.
The Resource Person said that there were many sources of solid waste which includes solid domestic garbage, solid waste material originating from the industries, solid agriculture waste and medical waste and informed that around the world, waste generation rate was on rise.
Vice President MC Bhaderwah Rishi Kotwal, activists Tahir Nadeem Khan, Sukesh Kumar, Brijesh Yogi and others were also present on the occasion.
