DLSA Gbl concludes Internship programme of Law students at J&K STAT, Srinagar
GANDERBAL : An internship programme conducted by the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Ganderbal for the welfare of Law students from School of Legal Studies, Central University of Kashmir concluded today with their visit to J&K Sales Tax Appellate Tribunal (J&K STAT) at Srinagar.
The internship programme was conducted by DLSA Ganderbal under the guidance of Tabasum, Secretary DLSA Ganderbal, beginning from 27th of August 2022.
The aim of the campaign was to sensitize Law students and encourage them to work for the upliftment of the underprivileged class of society, and also to make them aware about different NALSA Schemes and various other Laws.
In the guided tour, students were briefed on the functioning and procedures of the Tribunal. The students were accompanied by faculty members of School of Legal Studies, Central University of Kashmir.
The programme at the J&K Sales Tax Appellate Tribunal at Srinagar started by observing case proceedings and followed by the address of Rafiq Ahmad Chak, Presiding Officer, J&K Sales Tax Appellate Tribunal at Srinagar. He also appreciated the efforts of DLSA Ganderbal by organizing such programmes/visits.
He said that such programmes would be of immense help to the students to understand the working procedure of court/tribunal. He also gave a brief concept about various legal issues.
During the campaign, Law students visited different educational institutions of District Ganderbal where awareness programmes were conducted by law students on different topics.
Law students also visited Industrial Tribunal cum Labour Court Srinagar, J&K Sales Tax Appellate Tribunal Srinagar, Juvenile Justice Board Ganderbal, Subsidiary Jail Dignibal Ganderbal, Child Welfare Committee Ganderbal, District Hospital Ganderbal, Children’s Home Kangan and Legal Literacy Clubs.
As many as 21 awareness programmes were conducted by DLSA Ganderbal, beginning from 27th of August 2022 up till 22nd of September 2022, by engaging 131 number of Law students in various activities during the internship programme. Besides, 21 institutions of different types were covered during the campaign.
