DLSA Kulgam organises awareness programme on ADR Mechanism

KULGAM : As part of pan India awareness and outreach programme, the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Kulgam in collaboration with GDC Kulgam today organized an awareness programme regarding ‘Alternate Dispute Resolution Mechanism’ in collaboration with Govt. Degree College Kulgam.

The programme was held under the Chairmanship of Tahir Khurshid Raina, Chairman DLSA Kulgam.

During the programme, Principal Govt. Degree College Kulgam in his welcome address highlighted the role of Judiciary in upholding the Constitutional provisions.

Secretary DLSA Kulgam, Mehreen Mushtaq in her introductory speech discussed the origin of ADR Mechanism and Section 89 of CPC.

Chairman DLSA Kulgam, discussed in length the concept of ADR and laid special emphasis on Lok-Adalat as alternate mode of dispute resolution. Ld. Public Prosecutor Kulgam answered some queries regarding Criminal Justice system and Criminal matters which can be taken up in Lok-Adalat.

On the occasion students from college shared some personal experiences regarding their disputes and how they got solved by way of amicable settlement.

Faculty Members of College also raised some queries which were addressed to by Resource persons.
