DLSA organizes Webinar ‘Plea Bargaining’

Reasi: District Legal Services Authority, Reasi today organized a legal awareness webinar on the topic of “Plea Bargaining” under the guidance and supervision of R. N. Wattal, Chairman DLSA, in collaboration with Sub Jail Reasi.

Advocate M S Mir, the DLSA Panel Advocate was the resource person, while Advocate Ajay Salalia acted as Moderator in the said Webinar.

Secretary DLSA, Reasi, Rekha Kapoor Nischal, delivered the introductory address.

The resource person threw light on the importance on the topic and shared his valuable knowledge on the subject with the participants of this program.

All the jail inmates, along with Superintendent and staff members of Sub Jail Reasi, Panel advocates and Advocates of District Court Complex, Reasi and PLVs attended the online program.

In this Webinar, all the provisions pertaining to Plea Bargaining were discussed lucidly along with its practical aspects.

The online program was organized as per the Mandate of the Calendar of the programs of Jammu and Kashmir Legal Services Authority for the month of June under the project “Access to Justice for J&K” (Phase-II). The objective of conducting this online program was to encourage the lawyers to file applications in eligible cases which will lead to reduction in heavy backlog of cases as well provide early disposal of the cases of the accused and ensure adequate compensation to the victim.
