UDHAMPUR : As per the Common Minimum Programme of J&K Legal Services Authority, and under the Chairmanship of Chairman District Legal Services Authority Udhampur, Y.P. Bourney and overall Supervision of Secretary, District Legal Services Authority, Udhampur, Rajni Sharma, DLSA Udhampur today organized Two Legal Awareness Programmes on Right to Information Act, 2005 and Right to Public Services Guarantee Act, 2011 at Government Degree College Ramnagar in collaboration with TLSC Ramnagar.

The Resource person of the Programme was Panel Lawyer, Adv. Sanjeet Kumar. The Resource Person threw light on the provisions of both the acts and enlightened the gathering about the Right to Information and Right to Public Services Guarantee which is vital to the public Administration and makes the Government accountable to the common citizen.

The programme was attended by the Principal, Staff and students of the school. The Resource Persons also encouraged the gathering to approach Government Authorities with great caution as the Acts were enacted to serve the common Citizens and may not be used as a sabotaging tool.

Secretary DLSA, Rajni Sharma thanked the participants for participating in the Legal Awareness Programmes, and urged the general masses to avail the services of Legal services Institutions. She also informed the gathering that DLSA Udhampur is duty bound to serve the poor and downtrodden Sections of the Society. On the occasion copies of Right to Information Act were also distributed to the Principal, Staff, Students and PLVs by Secretary, DLSA Udhampur Chairman TLSC Ramnagar, Smriti Sharma also spoke on the occasion and thanked the Principal Staff and Secretary DLSA Udhampur for organizing this programme.
