DLTFC meeting for MY initiatives held at Shopian; 600 Youth to be provided Self-employment avenues

 

SHOPIAN: A meeting of the District Level Task Force Committee for implementation of Mission Youth (MY) initiatives was held here today under the Chairmanship of Additional Deputy Commissioner Mushtaq Ahmad Simnani.

The meeting reviewed implementation of various livelihood related initiatives of Mission Youth and also finalised road map for providing self employment to 600 unemployed youth in the district during current financial year.

Officer on Special Duty for Mission Youth and incharge for district Shopian, Mohammad Shafait gave a detailed resume of various livelihood, skill, career and psycho-social counseling, recreation and social engagement related initiatives of Mission Youth. He apprised the DLTFC about eligibility criteria, selection process, funding pattern etc under each scheme.

He informed that Mission Youth covers a wide range of activities including promotion of self-employment through schemes like Tejaswini, MUMKIN, Rise Together, SAHYTA, Spurring Entrepreneurship, development of Tourist Village network, generating sector-specific employment, Skill Development, AVSAR, PAARVAZ, promoting green youth alliance, constitution of youth clubs, holding talent hunts, establishment of District Youth centres, special initiatives for youth with disabilities, Universities collaboration initiatives JK Super-75( boys and girls), young innovators programs for holistic and pragmatic youth engagement and empowerment on sustainable lines.

The OSD said that the vision is to make Mission Youth a one-stop solution for all youth aspirations and channelise their energy in a positive direction by providing ways of livelihood generation.

He further gave out that 115 Youth clubs have been established one each 98 Panchayat and 17 ULB wards. Under Mumkin scheme 50 vehicles have been provided to unemployed youth thereby providing self employment to 100 youth.

Referring to instructions of LG for providing self employment to 5 youth per panchayat in the district, the ADC directed concerned to finalise identification process of beneficiaries panchayat wise and link them under relevant livelihood initiative of Mission Youth.

He also directed the concerned officers to generate mass awareness about the schemes being implemented by their departments under Mission Youth so that the public can avail the benefits of the same.

The meeting was attended by GM DIC, Tanvir Majid; AD Employment Majid Tantray, AD Planning Touseef Ahmad, CEO Mushtaq Ahmad, ARTO Moazzam Ali, DIO Showkat Ahmad Khan, JEO Tanvir Ahmad, CCO Aamir Hussain and other district officers.
