DME to organize three-day mega virtual Media Fest ‘Vritika-2020’

Noida: Media School of the Delhi Metropolitan Education (DME) is organising an inter-college mega virtual Media Fest ‘Vritika2020’ on November 5, 6 and 7. The annual fest provides an opportunity for the media students to showcase their skills by participating in exciting competitions. The fest also provides the students with a platform to interact with the media experts and media professionals.
Around 150 young media students and professionals from 62 different colleges, institutes and universities across India are expected to participate in 18 different events like Creative Writing, Media Debate, RJ Hunt, Digital Poster making, Photography, Anchor Hunt, Media Quiz to name a few.
Dr Sachchidanand Joshi, Member Secretary, Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts will be the chief guest of the inaugural ceremony of the fest on November 5, 2020.
One of the highlights of the annual media fest Vritika has been the felicitation of noted media personalities for their outstanding achievements and value-based journalism. The award was initiated in 2019 in the memory of freedom fighter and journalist Shri Ganesh Shankar Vidyarthi.
This year, the award will be given on November 07 to Ms Devina Gupta, Business Reporter of BBC World, Ms Madhu Bhatia Jha, US special correspondent for ABP News, and Ms Sayema, a celebrated RJ with Radio Mirchi.
In 2019, the award was presented to Dr Sanjio Singh, news editor- Incharge Market Mantra, News Services division, AIR, Ms Peenaz Tyagi, Sr Anchor/Editor, News Nation, Ms Deepti Sachdeva, senior broadcast Journalist and Anchor and Mr Pradeep Tiwari, Assistant Editor, the Pioneer (Hindi).
While explaining the importance of the fest, Dr Ambrish Saxena, Dean DME Media School said, “The event is bigger than ever especially when it is being organised in the online mode. It is a good opportunity for the media students and the public.”
According to the Festival Director, Dr Susmita Bala, Head DME Media School, “Vritika is to bring the talent of students and media professionals and provide a platform for further nourishing it.”
