Doda : NYK organises District Youth Convention, cultural programme

DODA:  Nehru Yuva Kendra Doda, in collaboration with District Administration Tuesday organised “Promotion of Art and Culture” programme and “District Youth Convention” here at Town Hall, Doda.

More than 15 cultural troupes performed in the event, most of them focused upon folk art and culture.

The event started with the welcome address by the District Youth Officer, Khushal Gupta. He welcomed the guests and briefed the participants about the objectives of organising such events. The Chief Guest of the programme was ACD Doda, Mohammad Idrees Lone and Guests of Honour were SDM Thathri Er Ather Amin, DIO Doda, Ashraf Wani, AD Employment Dr. Sushant Mahajan and Culture Officer Salahuddin.

The special guests were Principal Government Hr Sec School (Boys), Tanveer Ahmed, Prof. Anita Kotwal and Educationist, Om Parkash.

Students of different educational institutions including GDC Doda, Government ITI, Polytechnic College and members of youth clubs participated in the event.

The stage was hosted by Arif Rana and the programme was managed by TOT Jugnu Bhagat, Ahamer Ahmed and Surjeet Singh.

At the end, mementoes and certificates were presented to the participants. The sports material kits were also distributed among the participating youth clubs.
