Door to Door vaccination achieved tangible results in Ramban: DC

 

Ramban: District Administration Ramban has established rural COVID Isolation Centres in 124 Panchayats of the district, while the rest 19 are being covered on mission mode, said the Deputy Commissioner, Mussarat Islam, here today.

The COVID Isolation Centres are connected with telemedicine and are being equipped with basic facilities including oxygen concentrators and COVID medicine kits, besides RAT testing facility.

This facility has been created especially for those Covid positive patients in rural areas who lack separate room and toilet facility in their house. It will add level -3 additional 715 beds capacity in the district.

He said that 35 oxygen concentrators available in the district have been installed in different centres and supply of oxygen concentrators is being made by the J&K Medical Supply Corporation for other Panchayat level covid care centres.

The DC said that since March 1, districted recorded 2785 positive cases, of which 1855 recovered, 902 are still active and 28 others lost the battle. The positivity rate in the district is 2.12%, mortality rate 1.01% and recovery rate is 67%, he added.

Till date total 90 patients have been admitted in level-2 Covid Care Centre at trauma hospital Ramban out of which 12 patients were referred to GMC Doda, 5 died and others recovered fully and were discharged from hospital, he added.

The DC informed that at an average 1200 RTPCR and RAT Covid test samples are being collected by the health workers on daily basis in the district. He said the Health Department has also started aggressive testing in rural areas to implement track, trace and treat policy.

He appreciated the health and other frontline workers for conducting aggressive door to door vaccination in far-flung areas to achieve 100% target. The DC said that door to door vaccination drive has achieved tangible results as 67% targeted people having been vaccinated in the district.

The DC said that now the administration is targeting more areas by deploying additional teams to increase the rate of vaccination. He said that the administration will revisit the target of 75760 age appropriate people by cross checking with the list of migratory population residing in other districts of UT.

The DC said that keeping in view the prevailing situation it is not advisable to permit manual transactions in banks. He said administration will explore the possibilities to start the manual transaction in banks in a phases manner for the convenience of the people.

The DC urged the voluntary organizations and public representatives to motivate highly resistant age appropriate people to take Covid vaccination.
