DPEO Udhampur flags off SVEEP van for Voters awareness

Udhampur: To sensitize the general public about the importance of casting vote, District Panchayat Election Officer (DPEO), Dr Piyush Singla today flagged off a Mobile publicity van as part of Systematic Voters Education and electoral participation (SVEEP).

The DPEO informed that the mobile van shall travel in Udhampur district to educate the common masses about the elections and their importance. While highlighting the aim and objectives of the SVEEP, he said it primarily includes spreading awareness among electors about electoral participation. He underlined the importance of voters in democracy and appealed the participants to turn up in greater numbers in the upcoming DDC elections.

The DPEO directed the designated Officers for reaching out to every household and every voter in different ways for information dissemination.

Among others present were Additional District Development Commissioner, Ashok Kumar; Chief Planning Officer, Rajeev Bhushan; Assistant Commissioner, Revenue Vikar Giri; Deputy District Election Officer, Dr Shavi; District Social Welfare Officer, Er. Sajad Bashir Somberia and other district officers and officials of various departments.
