DPS RNE Ghaziabad students cherish the fun & colorful learnings on World Food Safety Day celebrations
Ghaziabad: My Healthy Food Plate & Virtual Salad Making activities were conducted for the little ones who participated in them enthusiastically. These activities made them aware about healthy eating habits and significance of a good diet
The first wealth is health and good health requires healthy food. Learn to eat right. Take the first step this World Food Safety Day. – These thoughts were highlighted by the participating students of grades Nursery- Class II. The Virtual Salad making activity was planned for children of grades Nursery and Prep A & B. This activity made them learn about the importance of eating salad along with a balanced diet. The teachers also made them aware about the simple etiquettes to be followed for hygiene and safety of food.
Elaborating upon the same, Ms. Pallavi Upadhyaya, Principal, DPS-RNE Ghaziabad said, “Healthy eating habits are more likely to stay with us if we learn them as a child. We need to make sure our children remain fit and healthy specially during the times of health crisis and when physical outdoor activities are being limited. With our Food Safety Day celebrations, we tried inculcating in them the habit to eat a variety of foods like fresh fruits and green vegetables for overall health and growth.
For classes I and II, the Healthy Food plate activity was organized wherein the children were supposed to draw and color the food items which they consider are healthy and are to be eaten on a daily basis. Little ones drew fruits, vegetables, eggs, meat, a glass of milk, a glass of juice etc. in their art & craft books. The importance of milk was emphasized as an essential part of daily diet, and students before signing off promised to drink at least two glasses of milk daily.
